Plan around the sun
Summer temperatures (June–September) regularly exceed 110°F. Always carry water — even for short drives. Plan outdoor activities before 10 AM or after 5 PM. October–May brings perfect weather with highs of 70–90°F and cool evenings.
💨 Desert Wind & Sand
It's totally normal
The Coachella Valley is known for occasional gusty winds, especially in spring. When it's windy, close patio umbrellas and bring lightweight items inside. Sand may blow into the pool area — we keep it clean between guests. Pack sunglasses and a hat.
🚗 You'll Want a Car
The valley is big
The Coachella Valley stretches about 45 miles from Palm Springs to Mecca. A car is essential. Rideshare works well during festivals but can be slow at other times. Nearest airports: Palm Springs (PSP, ~35 min) and Ontario (ONT, ~90 min). We have 5 driveway spots plus free street parking.
🎪 Festival Season Tips
Book everything early
Coachella (April) and Stagecoach (April) fill the entire valley. BNP Paribas tennis is in March. During festivals, rideshares from the house to Empire Polo take just 5–10 minutes. Expect higher restaurant prices. Stock up on groceries before arrival to avoid the rush.
📅 Best Times to Visit
October through May is peak
October through May: perfect weather, clear skies, and all the major events. Summer is off-peak — extreme heat but significantly lower prices and zero crowds. The sweet spot for value and weather is October and May.
