Coachella 2027 Dates — What We Know

Coachella has run across two consecutive April weekends at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California every year since 2012. That format is not going away. While Goldenvoice has not yet made an official announcement for 2027, the pattern is consistent enough that planning around it is reasonable.

Coachella 2027 Status Tracker
Format Two weekends Confirmed
Location Empire Polo Club, Indio CA Confirmed
Expected Weekend 1 ~April 9–11, 2027 Estimated
Expected Weekend 2 ~April 16–18, 2027 Estimated
Official Date Announcement Expected late 2026 TBD
Lineup Announcement Expected Jan/Feb 2027 TBD
Ticket Sale Expected mid-to-late 2026 TBD

As a host 2.5 miles from the grounds, I've seen this calendar play out year after year. The announcement rhythm is reliable. What isn't reliable is rental availability — that's the variable that actually requires you to move early.

Coachella 2027 Tickets — What to Know

Coachella tickets have sold out within hours of going on sale for more than a decade. The process is not slow — you need to be ready before they drop.

How the ticket sale works

Goldenvoice runs a wristband registration system that opens before the general sale. If you've attended before and had tickets in your name, you may be eligible for early access. For everyone else, the general sale is a single high-demand window — have your credit card saved, your account ready, and be at a computer (not a phone) when the sale opens.

The main ticket categories for Coachella are General Admission, GA+ (which includes shaded viewing platforms and dedicated restrooms), and VIP. Camping is also available for those going all-in on the full festival experience.

What the sale timeline looks like

NOW

Book your rental house

The houses closest to the grounds — with pools, multiple bedrooms, and easy logistics — fill up first. This is your actual first move.

FALL 2026

Watch for official date and ticket sale announcements

Follow @Coachella on social and sign up for their email list. The official date announcement typically lands first, followed by the ticket sale date.

MID 2026

Ticket presale drops (if applicable)

Returning ticket holders and wristband registrants often get a window before general sale. Check your email from any prior Coachella year.

JAN 2027

Lineup announcement

The poster drop is a cultural event of its own. By this point, your rental should be locked.

APR 2027

Festival weekend — Weekend 1

You pull up to your private house 2.5 miles from the grounds, unload at the pool, and the weekend begins.

Host tip Don't wait for the lineup to book your rental. Every year, guests contact us after the lineup drops and we're already full. The lineup is not what books out houses — the announcement of dates is. By January, the best houses in the Coachella Valley are gone.

Coachella 2027 Lineup — Speculation and What to Expect

Goldenvoice has not announced the Coachella 2027 lineup, and any specific headliner names you see floating around in August 2026 are speculation — nothing more. That said, the festival's booking patterns offer some useful context.

What Coachella's lineup typically looks like

The Coachella lineup runs across three main stages: the Coachella Stage (main), the Outdoor Theatre, and the Sahara Stage (electronic). There are also several smaller stages covering pop, hip-hop, Latinx music, and emerging artists. Headliners rotate between pop, rock/alternative, and hip-hop acts, with one electronic or crossover headliner in the mix most years.

The festival has historically balanced global megastars (Beyoncé, Ariana Grande) with legacy acts making rare appearances and buzzy contemporary artists at career peaks. A returning headliner is rare — though not unheard of — so rumor chatter about artists who've already headlined deserves some skepticism.

When the real announcement comes

Goldenvoice drops the lineup poster in late January or February, and it's almost always a surprise — even to people watching closely. Social media goes into a frenzy, tickets that were purchased months earlier feel vindicated, and rental demand for the remaining inventory spikes overnight.

If you're waiting for the lineup to decide whether Coachella 2027 is worth going to, you're playing the game backwards. The people who have the best experience are already booked by then.

Why Your Rental Makes or Breaks Coachella 2027

I've talked to hundreds of Coachella guests over the years. The split is stark: guests who stay at a private house close to the grounds almost universally say it was one of the best weekends of their year. Guests who stay far out or at a mediocre property often say the logistics wore them down by Day 2.

The math on staying close

Tulum in the Valley is 2.5 miles from the Empire Polo Club. That means rideshares run $10–15 each way. You're back at the pool within 20 minutes of leaving the grounds. You can run home mid-day if you need to. Festival days are long — that proximity is not a small thing.

Contrast that with guests who book something 40 minutes out because it was cheaper per night: they spend $50–80 per day on transportation, lose 90 minutes in transit daily, and are stuck wherever they are when the headliner runs late and Uber surges at midnight.

The group economics

Tulum in the Valley sleeps 10 across four bedrooms. Split across a group, the per-person cost for a long weekend is often comparable to a hotel room — and the house has a private pool, a full kitchen, outdoor entertaining space, and actual room to breathe. There's no hotel that delivers that experience at that price per person.

For groups going to Coachella together — whether it's a bachelorette, a friend group, a couples trip — a private house is simply the right call. See our Coachella bachelorette itinerary for how one group used the house as home base across four days.

Why Smart Renters Book in August — Not April

Here's the pattern I watch every single year:

August–October: The guests who plan ahead book. These are repeat visitors, people who've done Coachella before and know how fast things move, and groups with enough people that coordinating early is necessary.

November–December: The middle tier — people who heard about the festival from friends who are going, people who just found out it's a thing worth doing. Most of the best properties are gone. What remains is either overpriced or further out.

January (lineup drop): The flood. The lineup announcement triggers a wave of "okay, we're actually doing this" decisions. At this point, good inventory at reasonable prices barely exists. We are typically fully booked by this point.

March–April: Desperation bookings at whatever's left, at whatever price it's asking.

What this means for you If you're reading this in August or September and you know Coachella 2027 is something you want to do — book your house now. The worst case is that you change your mind and cancel during the free cancellation window. The best case is that you have the house that made your weekend while everyone else scrambled.

Coachella 2027 — Frequently Asked Questions

When is Coachella 2027?

Coachella 2027 is expected to run across two weekends in April 2027, following the festival's consistent format since 2012. Weekend 1 typically falls on the second weekend of April, with Weekend 2 the following weekend. Official dates will be announced by Goldenvoice — watch for the announcement in late 2026. Based on historical patterns, expect Weekend 1 around April 9–11 and Weekend 2 around April 16–18, 2027, though these are estimates until confirmed.

When do Coachella 2027 tickets go on sale?

Coachella tickets typically go on sale in the summer or fall prior to the festival, often in June or July. Passes sell out within hours of going on sale — set a reminder and have your payment method ready. General Admission passes, GA+ (shaded viewing areas), and VIP tiers are the main categories. Wristband registration usually opens before the sale for returning ticket holders, giving them advance access.

Who is headlining Coachella 2027?

Coachella 2027 headliners have not been officially announced. Goldenvoice typically reveals the lineup in January or February of the festival year. The lineup announcement is its own cultural moment — follow Coachella's official social channels and expect speculation to ramp up in late 2026. Past headliners have included Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, and Tyler the Creator.

Where should I stay for Coachella 2027?

The best accommodation for Coachella is a private rental house in the Coachella Valley — close to the Empire Polo Club grounds, with a private pool for recovery between festival days. Hotels in the area are expensive, often more than 30 minutes from the grounds, and lack the space and amenities that make a Coachella weekend feel like a real vacation. A house like Tulum in the Valley (2.5 miles from the venue) lets you split costs across a group and have a home base with a private pool.

How far in advance should I book a Coachella rental?

Book as early as possible — ideally before Christmas of the year prior to the festival. The highest-demand properties are gone by September or October. By the time the lineup drops in January, the best houses are fully booked. Booking early also locks in lower rates before festival pricing peaks.

Can I book Coachella 2027 rentals directly?

Yes — and you should. Direct booking saves you the platform fees (typically 14–16% on Airbnb, 6–12% on VRBO) and often includes perks the platforms don't offer. Tulum in the Valley now accepts direct bookings at tuluminthevalley.com — same 4-bedroom house, same 4.97-star host, but at a better price with direct contact to the host.

What should I know about Coachella 2027 before going?

The essentials: expect extreme heat (95–105°F in April), bring large insulated water bottles, wear sunscreen and a hat, charge your phone fully each morning, and plan your must-see sets in advance — the app drops a few weeks before the festival. Staying in a private house close to the grounds makes logistics dramatically easier. And buy tickets the day they go on sale — they sell out fast.
