Coachella 2027 dates are confirmed: Weekend 1 is April 9–11 and Weekend 2 is April 16–18, both at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The two-weekend format has been the standard since 2012, and this year is no different.
As a host 2.5 miles from the grounds, I've seen this calendar play out year after year. The announcement rhythm is reliable. What isn't reliable is rental availability — that's the variable that actually requires you to move early.
Coachella 2027 tickets are already on sale. The advance presale opened in April 2026, right after the dates were announced. More tiers follow, and each one is priced higher than the last, so waiting usually means paying more.
Goldenvoice runs a wristband registration system that opens before the general sale. If you've attended before and had tickets in your name, you may be eligible for early access. For everyone else, the general sale is a single high-demand window — have your credit card saved, your account ready, and be at a computer (not a phone) when the sale opens.

Dua Lipa is in a strong position — her recent Radical Optimism touring cycle put her on the level of a Coachella headliner, and she hasn't played the festival in that capacity. Tame Impala have a deep connection to the Coachella audience and have hinted at new material. Oasis and Radiohead fall more into the "legacy wildcard" category — both have the credibility and the catalog, and the reunion-tour energy around Oasis in particular has kept them in nearly every headliner rumor thread going into 2027. SZA has been on a monster run and is overdue for a main stage slot.
The Coachella lineup runs across three main stages: the Coachella Stage (main), the Outdoor Theatre, and the Sahara Stage (electronic). Headliners rotate between pop, rock/alternative, and hip-hop acts, with one electronic or crossover headliner in the mix most years. Guests who stay far out or at a mediocre property often say the logistics wore them down by Day 2.

Here's the pattern I watch every single year:
August–October: The guests who plan ahead book. These are repeat visitors, people who've done Coachella before and know how fast things move, and groups with enough people that coordinating early is necessary.
November–December: The middle tier — people who heard about the festival from friends who are going, people who just found out it's a thing worth doing. Most of the best properties are gone. What remains is either overpriced or further out.
Lineup week (expected Oct–Dec 2026): The flood. The lineup announcement triggers a wave of "okay, we're actually doing this" decisions. At this point, good inventory at reasonable prices barely exists. We are typically fully booked by this point.
March–April: Desperation bookings at whatever's left, at whatever price it's asking.

Hotels in the area are expensive, often more than 30 minutes from the grounds, and lack the space and amenities that make a Coachella weekend feel like a real vacation. Book as early as possible — ideally before Christmas of the year prior to the festival. The highest-demand properties are gone by September or October. By the time the lineup drops, the best houses are usually booked. Booking early also locks in lower rates before festival pricing peaks.
